ISME - International student mobility, employability and related personal outcomes: the role of soft skills
Business, Management and Services

This project aims at (a) evaluating the beneficial return over time of ISM experiences in terms of soft skills acquisition and development and how these skills were developed during ISM; (b) examining the direct and indirect effects (through soft skills development) of ISM on individuals employability and related personal outcomes in terms of satisfaction and commitment by triangulating different stakeholders’ perceptions (students, graduates and employers); (c) drawing some comparison between two European contexts (Switzerland and Spain); (d) developing and implementing concrete measures in the form of guide and workshops for students in order to increase their awareness of the value of soft skills and ISM in employability and personal carriers.
Triangulating the different perceptions by surveying students, graduates and employers in both Swiss and Spanish contexts together with deeper interviews will help Higher education institutions to develop common policies and mechanisms that better meet students' and labour market needs, shape ISM's framework to promote students' soft skills development for sustainable employability and satisfaction.
HEG Arc project ISME is being carried out in collaboration with the University of Galway (UK), the Autonomous University of Madrid and the Tilburg University (Netherlands).
