The call for projects is launched in the framework of the Memorandum of understanding signed by the Ministry of Higher Education, Scientific Research and Innovation of the Kingdom of Morocco, and the State Secretariat for Education, Research and Innovation of the Swiss Confederation. It aims at strengthening the collaboration between Swiss and Moroccan institutions by allocating seed money funding to pilot projects.
The goal of this instrument is to allow researchers to conduct joint activities in order to build teams, to apply for grants from other funding agencies, and/or to develop long-term partnership between the institutions or research groups involved.
The call for projects is open to the following disciplines:
The maximum amount that can be requested is CHF 10,000 for the Switzerland-based partner(s) and MAD 100,000 for the Morocco-based partner(s). Eligibility criteria, funding regulation and selection process are given in the call document below.
The call for projects was launched in September 2022. At the deadline (11 December 2022), 25 applications had been submitted. After an eligibility check and an evaluation by external reviewers, the joint Steering Committee selected ten projects which were awarded a grant. You can find the list of awarded projects below.
